Class M planets are characterized by fertile lands, temperate climates and big oceans. They are also the most common planet type. This makes them the main source of food and water in the universe. They depend on a steady supply of energy.

The surface of Class I planets consists for more than 95% of ice. This makes them the ideal producer of water. Like Class M planets, they depend on energy.

Class D planets are essentially deserts. The average surface temperature generally exceeds 50°C. Water can only be found in oases, accessible only to a small part of the population, so it must be imported. The desert planets are inhabited by previously primitive cultures, still ruled by powerful Sheiks. They collect Gem Stones and would disappear without them. Energy is not needed on these planets as all work is done by hand or using simple machines.
The innate inhuman conditions on these planets are reason for factions to turn a blind eye when it comes to slave trading. (Official faction standpoints are still "illegal", but there is little control to uphold it.)

Due to their gravitational pull, these gas giants are often orbited by many moons, sometimes the size of small planets. Not surprisingly, these moons - classified as Class G - are home to many profitable gas and chemical gathering colonies. The only needs these colonies have are food and a little energy; they produce their own water, which can be extracted from the chemical mixture that makes up the giant's atmosphere, so they do not depend on its import.

High radiation and mineral richness set the barren R class planets apart. Life is not possible without protective measures that require enormous amounts of energy to maintain. No food or water can be found there and needs to be imported. Those who do not fear hair loss, impotency and early radiation death and want to get rich quickly, should settle here - the ore and metal production is higher on these planets than anywhere else.

Extreme abundance of resources sets Class A planets - commonly referred to as "Gaia Planets" - apart. These rarest of all planets are only known to exist in the rich Pardus Cluster, usually hard-fought. Produced and consumed commodities coincide with those on Class M planets, but with a significantly higher output and efficiency.
