A Federation entrepreneur, who wants to remain unknown, managed to get his hands on the ISDC Sabre designs. Working alone for nearly a year, a complete overhaul resulted in the Wasp. By restructuring the body and replacing the nose laser mount by two wing mounts, the new design boasts increased hull strength, hull capacity and armor strength. The ugly duck of the ISDC transformed into a small but combat ready Federation fighter. A very popular step up for pilots fed up with the Sabres sub-par performance!
Originally designed with a cargo space of 85t, the Adder was upgraded to 100t after initial sales were significantly below projections. It is a light and reliable trading ship that can take care of itself in short combat with its dual missile mounts. The Adder is a preferred ship for transport of 'delicate' cargo, as it can easily hide from pursuit in energy fields.

The 'offensive' appearance of the Thunderbird is often reason for unseasoned pilots to use it as a combat ship. In actuality it is a high-quality combat ready transporter of 125t. Its round shape mimics nature but serves only aesthetic purposes.
As smallest of the dual-bladed class yet with three gun mounts, this fighter excels in a defensive role. The authorities often use this ship to preserve the public order (read: hunt for criminals). As every light vessel, pirates abuse the Viper DC for their illegal activities - jocularly it is often called 'Viper Pirate Craft'.

The Transporter is an excellent choice due to its low price. It can be found on all trade routes in the universe and its beautiful appearance appeals to many. A well loved ship, even though it cannot defend itself effectively against a major attack.
The Piranha is in all aspects true to its namesake: Compact, robust and armed to the teeth! This prime example of a close combat fighter has no less than four laser mounts. The four point focus of the weapon systems gives an unparalleled control over the impressive firepower in any combat situation. The compact design unfortunately precludes any missile mounts, the one weakness of this deadly ship.

The new Nighthawk fighter craft is a spin-off of the older Hawk design. The two crafts look much alike, using the same basic design and frame structure. It is capable of packing a huge amount of firepower, but with the addition of one missile and added space to its cargo capacity. The Nighthawks small size also enables this craft to cloak very easily, making it perfect for ambushing and sneak attacks. It is also an effective craft for pirating, but it is almost never used so due to the extremely high cost.
Using data collected from the Nighthawk's field tests and materials developed for Z-series fighters, Federation engineers made a good ship better. Its chassis has been modified to provide more leg room, an improved armor configuration, and a larger arsenal of missiles. It has a larger profile, but it's still a hawk at heart - fast, maneuverable, and heavily armable. The deluxe version costs much more to produce, and is usually reserved for seasoned fighter pilots.

This colossus serves the ultimate use in space. 3 Gun and 8 missile mounts outshoot almost every other big carrier in the known universe. The cargo capacity is substantial but, unfortunately, so is its size. If you have the money to spend and don't care about cloaking, you can't go wrong buying a Mantis.
Easily the most recognizable of the Federation transport vessels, this gigantic leviathan is rapidly becoming a common sight along the space lanes of the Federation. Its unique form is attributed to a gravametric cargo space which permits a low level of simulated gravity within its storage containment system. This affords the possibility of transporting larger quantities of cargo and provides greater cargo security. With mass more evenly distrubuted along all axes, the Extender's maneuverability is slightly better than its elongated cousin finding refuge within Empire hangars. All and all, the Extender has shown that - contrary to popular belief - the needs of pure trade pilots around the Federation are indeed a focus of ship builders.

The Gauntlet is the backbone of the Federations' assault forces. The firepower of this behemoth is undeniable; with a wide array of gun and missle mounts the Gauntlet can play any role in modern spatial warfare. It is however mainly used in breaking through enemy blockades and for annihilating enemy facilities. Due to its vast potential for mayhem, only the most trusted and highly regarded of Federal officers are allowed to captain such a ship.
Originally designed in the early days of the Federation rebellion, the Doomstar sat on the drawing board for many years as the newly formed Federation lacked the ability to build a ship of this complexity and size. All this changed once the shipyards at Sol were completed. The Doomstar represents some of the most advanced shipbuilding skill shown since the end of the Pardus conflict. The intricate armour-plating arrangement on the Doomstar reveals its role as the dreadnought of the galaxy, designed to take a pummeling and still be operational against superior numbers. Combined with a vast armament this ship is truly an awesome presence in the Federal fleet. Only a few of these dreadnoughts have been built, and as such they are given only to the most successful admirals as flagships.

Trusted to only the most respected and high ranking pilots of the Federation, the Federation's largest behemoth is the epitome of the human mantra: "Bigger is better". When first designed prior to the Usube Wars, the ship's production and testing was put to a halt due to the prototype's massive costs to build and the strain on Sol's shipyards due to the ship's size. After the Usube Wars, however, when Admirals complained of Empire missiles distressingly high hit percentage, High Command started the War Nova project once more, departing from the tactics of dodging incoming missiles and gunfire, and instead building a ship that could simply withstand the damage thrown at it. Completed after much research and development, the final product is a truly awe-inspiring ship to behold. Built with the most intricate armor plating in space and the most intensely fortified hull in the universe, this ship not only dwarfs every faction ship available in size, but can carry more missiles and guns than any ship available to pilots.
