This ship is a relative new design and an ideal starter for pilots who are unsatisfied with the Sabre's handling. Looking at the price-performance comparison, this model is unbeatable!
|
The Tyrant is the longest serving model in the Empire. The robust build and its body, constructed from cheap heavy metals from Grecein, give it great cargo capacity but also a very high mass. It has no mountings for laser weapons (this means no asteroid mining!), but its three Missile Mounts can keep unwanted guests at a distance, at least for a short while.
The rust on the outer hull are natural in older models, but most are added with an artificial oxidation process, to satisfy the nostalgic feeling of many traders.

It is hard to believe that the Spectre design is based on the original plans for the Rustclaw! The Empire engineers aimed at creating a contemporary small transporter; and it is obvious that they succeeded.
|
In all human asteroid-colonies ghost stories speak of shadows that roam around the bio-domes at night. They are supposed to be the lost souls of pilots killed in space battles. It is however more likely that the Shadow Stealth Craft is the source of these tales. It is constructed of the lightest nanomaterials, based on a weight saving design, making it perfect for espionage missions and short ranged combat. Even experienced pilots find it hard to locate this craft, let alone hit it with their weapons.

The galactic council used the Venom for guarding wormholes but the upkeep costs became too high after the war. Many Venoms were sold for low prices on the open market. The growing demand for cruisers with cloaking ability has recently increased the prices to a level fitting for the high quality of this ship.
|
The Constrictor is a prestige project of the Empire. It was designed to outperform the Babel Transporter in all aspects to give the Empire Pilots a 'worthy' alternative. They certainly succeeded, at the cost of size, price and handling.

Flying a Phantom is the highest honour for any pilot, but also quite a challenge. Paradoxically, the low mass makes it very difficult to steer. But in the right hands it is one of the most effective killing machines in the universe.
|
Following the principle 'more is better' the Dominator can count on the gods of war on its side in great space battles. The survival rate for challengers of a Dominator is very close to zero.

Deriving its name from the one Earth-based life form which fascinates almost all Ska'ari the most, this ship really looks a bit like a well fed boa constrictor. And as the boa is truly the colossus among snakes, the Boa Ultimate Carrier is the final answer in sheer hull capacity, a ship truly worthy of the Ska'ari merchant princes.
With an unprecedented missile capacity, this juggernaut is far from defenceless, but unfortunately behaves in combat like it looks: Sluggish like a well fed boa.

During the war, when resources were hard to get, the Empire started to think about a way how to avoid wasting resources on mining stations that would soon be either destroyed by the enemy or would become useless when the asteroids were depleted. Several methods were suggested, and the one that was most likely to be successful was to create a mining platform that could move to the next asteroid field once one was totally depleted. It should also be able to mine in enemy territory and then quickly retreat when resistance was encountered.
The stations got additional equipment: a drive to make it possible to move, a better structure so it would be stable enough to fly, and a huge cargo hold to store and transport the mined resources. Of course it had to be armed too, for it now was much more expensive than even the biggest conventional stations, and as the loss of such a platform would have been substantial, it got four gun turrets and several missile launchers.
After the first skirmishes it turned out that this platform performed better in combat than most empire ships, and so a second model with better armor was created to serve as a regular empire ship. As a tribute to what it was originally created for, it was called "Mooncrusher".
